CHALLENGE RACE - 3 Legs - 300, 400, 500 Miles

OLD
BIRD 2000 CHALLENGE RACE
1.
The Old Bird 2000 Challenge Race will be the combined performance of each
individual bird entered in the following three races:
a.
April 15, 2000 Longview,
Texas 300 miles
b.
April 29, 2000 Hope,
Arkansas 400
miles
c.
May 19, 2000 Little
Rock, Arkansas 500 miles
2.
Entry fee is $10.00 per bird.
3.
Bird's band number is to be entered and paid for at night of shipping first leg
of the Challenge Race (April 15, 2000)
4.
The Challenge Birds will be shipped as part of the "A" race entry
limit.
5.
A separate report will be printed for each Challenge Race.
6.
Points will be awarded to each bird starting with 100 points for the first
clocked challenge bird, 99 points for the second bird, 98 points for the third
place bird. Points will be decremented by one (1) for each subsequent bird until
100 birds have been awarded points. Points will be awarded in this manner for
each of the three Challenge Races. Total points for each bird over the three
races will determine the winner.
7.
Awards: The overall winner will receive a trophy engraves, "Champion Bird,
Long Distance Challenge Race 2000." The trophy will also be engraved with
the band number of the winning bird, and the name of the winning loft.
8.
A cash payout of 100% of the entry fee will be paid as follows: First place
overall winner, 30%; second place 20%; third place 15%; fourth place 10%; and
fifth place 5%.
9.
The loft with the most total points on all birds for the three Challenge Races
will win 20% of the entry fee.

***** RACE RULES *****
1.
Number of Races: There will be two races,
released 30 minutes apart, each race day for all races except the 400 & 500
mile races. All 400 & 500 mile races will be one release. Total of 20 races
for the 2000 Old Bird Season.
2.
Shipping Limits: The shipping limit will be 15
birds per loft location, (postal address) for all races.
3.
Cancelled Races: If a race is cancelled due to
inclement weather, it will not be rescheduled.
4.
Average Speed: Each fancier must ship all races
to compete for average speed, even if the race is cancelled.
5.
Number of Birds Clocked: The first five birds
clocked from each loft for each race will be computed and go on to the race
result sheet.
6.
Race Rules: All races will be conducted according
to AU Race Rules.
7.
Training Birds: The club will haul training birds
on the first four races during the old bird series. These birds to be released
30 minutes after the second race. A charge of 25 cents per training bird will be
assessed and go to the Woodlawn Racing Pigeon Club. The 25 cents per training
bird must be paid the night of shipping.

Dates: March 19 - 100 miles; March 26 - 150 miles; April 2 - 200 miles; April 9
- 200 miles.
