RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR AUCTION RACE

1. Entry fee will be $10.00 per bird. This fee will be paid prior to the auction and will be credited to the individual for bidding at the auction. Example: If you bring five birds to enter into the auction race, you will pay $50.00 to enter these birds. During the auction you spend $100.00 purchasing birds, you will owe $50.00. $100.00 less your credit of $50.00.

2. Bidding will start at $10.00 and be raised in $5.00 increments.

3. For every five (5) birds an individual purchases during the auction, that individual may enter one bird free that has not been entered in the auction. The free bird band number must be given the day of the auction. No band numbers will be accepted after that day. No partnerships can exercise this free bird, individual only.

4. Anyone can donate or purchase birds. All birds must be flown in race.

5. All bird numbers (birds present or numbers present) must be shown to a committee member and written on a card provided by the committee. This card will be the property of the committee and will follow the birds to the shipping of the race.

6. Birds purchased must be paid for the day of the auction.

7. After the auction is over, band numbers cannot be changed. The race is open to all lofts. Airline must be furnished.

8. It will be the buyers responsibility to make arrangements with a handler.

9. After completion of the race, the buyer will have ownership of the birds purchased unless other arrangements are made.

10. When bands are sold – birds must be delivered to the buyer by May 31, 2002. If not delivered, the seller will be charged the price of the band and money returned to the buyer.

The 2001 Young Bird and Old Bird Awards will be presented at the May 5, 2002 Auction.

Due to the race schedule there will be no noon meal – we will have refreshments during both auctions.

We would like to issue a special invitation to all new members and all pigeon flyers in the surrounding areas to participate in the Young Bird Auction. Older members – we still need your support!. Last years pay out was $2,800 with 1st place prize of $1,125.

If you do not have birds to sell on April 3, 2002, come to the Woodlawn Club House and visit with us.
